Our family forge is located in Longquan, China, a city with an uninterrupted history of traditional sword forging that spans roughly 2,000 years. We combine classic Eastern forging philosophy with careful quality control. Each blade represents part of the heritage of one of the world's most important swordmaking centers.

TSIAOCHIH is an officially registered trademark in the European Union. We provide transparent customer service, localized support, and after-sales help for European customers.
FAQ: Country Notes for EU Collectors
Q1: Is it legal to buy and own a functional katana in my country?
For adults aged 18 and over, private ownership is generally legal in the countries listed below. However, local rules about carrying, transport, and public display vary. Always check the current laws in your own country before purchase or transport.
Germany and Austria: Home ownership is legal without a license. In Germany, carrying a sharp blade in public is restricted under Section 42a WaffG, but transport is normally allowed when the sword is secured in a locked container or closed sword bag for a legitimate purpose such as training or maintenance.
France: Swords are generally classified as Category D weapons. Purchase and private ownership by adults are allowed, and registration is not normally required.
Spain and Portugal: Ownership for historical, artistic, or collector purposes is generally permitted on private property. When transporting, keep your TSIAOCHIH purchase invoice with you as proof of ownership.
Italy: Collecting and home display are generally permitted. Swords should be stored securely at home. Practitioners of Iaido or Tameshigiri should transport blades only to appropriate training facilities.
The Netherlands and Denmark: In the Netherlands, swords fall under Category IV of the weapons law and may be owned and kept at home by adults. Public open carry is restricted, but secure transport for training or maintenance is generally allowed.
Sweden and Finland: These are collector-friendly markets for traditional martial arts swords. Historical replicas and functional training swords can generally be owned at home, subject to local handling and transport rules.
Poland, Czechia, Romania, Slovakia, and Greece: These countries are generally favorable for collectors of historical weapons. In most cases, you do not need a police permit or firearms license to buy, own, or receive a hand-forged sword from our EU warehouse.
Q2: Which delivery service ships to my country, and how long does it take?
Because orders ship from our central EU logistics hub in Germany, your package remains inside the European shipping network. It travels by premium ground transport, with no import VAT or customs stop at your local border.
- Germany and Austria: 2-3 business days via DHL / DPD.
- France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Czechia, and Poland: 3-5 business days via DHL International / DPD.
- Spain, Italy, Portugal, and Slovakia: 4-6 business days via GLS / DHL / Seur / BRT.
- Sweden, Finland, Romania, and Greece: 5-7 business days via DHL, PostNord, or premium local couriers.
All shipments include discreet packaging, anti-rust oil protection, a tracking number, and transit insurance.
Q3: What if a courier or local authority questions the package?
You should not need to worry. Since the goods are shipped from Germany, they do not go through a new customs import inspection when entering another EU member state.
Each shipment leaves our warehouse with appropriate European commercial documentation, describing the item as a collector's cutting tool or historical replica.
To comply with safety expectations across Europe, delivery may require an adult signature or age confirmation. Please make sure an adult is available to receive the parcel and show identification if the courier requests it.
Q4: How do returns work if I live far from Germany?
Standard EU consumer protection rules apply to the countries listed above. If you receive a product with a manufacturing defect or shipping damage, you do not need to send it back to Asia.
- Contact our support team.
- We will provide EU return instructions when the return is eligible.
- The package can be sent back to our German warehouse, making the return or exchange process faster, safer, and aligned with EU consumer rights.
