About TsiaoChih

TSIAOCHIH Swords

Based in Longquan, China - a city with more than 2,000 years of traditional sword-forging history - TSIAOCHIH is a family-run artisan workshop specializing in hand-forged collector-grade katanas and traditional Chinese swords.

Blade making is our family heritage and way of life. With more than a decade of formal company history and generations of inherited expertise, we pursue perfection in every blade through time-honored traditional forging and clay-tempering techniques.

As a registered EU trademark, TSIAOCHIH brings authentic Eastern craftsmanship closer to European enthusiasts. With our local warehouse in Germany, we proudly provide fast, reliable EU-wide logistics and dedicated local after-sales service.

TSIAOCHIH (Pronounced: "Ts-ee-ao Chee")

Derived from the historic "Dragon Pool", TSIAOCHIH is a premium brand dedicated to weapon art created by master craftspeople. We infuse the legendary power of the dragon and the ancient soul of Eastern forging into every Japanese katana and Chinese sword we forge. Steel meets water; heritage meets precision.

The Master: Mr. Chen

At the heart of TsiaoChih is Mr. Chen, a master smith whose expertise covers the full range of traditional Japanese and Chinese blade-making techniques:

  • Kesho-togi polishing: Mr. Chen has personally mastered Kesho-togi, the most demanding and prestigious finishing technique in Japanese sword polishing. This art creates a mirror-bright ji and a sharp hamon.
  • Tamahagane production: Mr. Chen is one of the few non-Japanese smiths capable of producing genuine Tamahagane, the legendary steel at the heart of every true Japanese sword.
  • Traditional forging and composite construction: Mr. Chen masters classical composite forging techniques, including Sanmai, Kobuse, and Hon-Sanmai.

Every TsiaoChih katana is a direct expression of Mr. Chen's lifelong dedication. Shipped directly from our warehouse in Germany, with no customs duties within the EU.
